5th Update on AAA 70th Reunion Registrations 18Jan18
Greeting Fellow Apprentices,
Happy New Year from the organising team for the Army Apprentices 70th Anniversary Reunion.
Thank you to everyone who has registered and paid their money. We currently have 203 apprentices and 124 partners/children registered to attend the reunion celebration. We are receiving registrations daily either via email or snail mail, so please keep them coming. If you have sent your form in or registered on line and haven’t been sent your receipt number can you please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will look into it. As we know technology is great when it works.
I have had a few questions about numbers/venue change etc. All is going well in that space. Our target is to have over 500 people attend the reunion event and our venue for the Meet and Greet and Formal Dinner (National Convention Centre) will comfortably hold that number plus more. So keep those registrations coming in.
We have been provided a special rate for rooms at the Crowne Plaza in Canberra. The venue is staggering distance from the National Convention Centre and very handy to the CBD, and the Casino. The Australian War Memorial is only a short distance from the Convention Centre. Crowne Plaza have set aside 80 rooms that’s 2 x 40 – great intake that 40th class ) and the rates are as follows: 50 x Superior City View and 30 Deluxe Park View at a rate of $195.00 per night per City View room only and $230.00 per Park View room per night only. The offer also includes $25.00 extra per person for a full buffet breakfast in the Redsalt restaurant. Please contact Crowne Plaza and mention you are attending the reunion. All interested attendees should be able to access this rate through the weblink below: https://aws.passkey.com/go/AAAAAnniversary
Note: A 14 day cancellation policy applies. This means that any cancellation, reduction of room nights or no shows are charged in full if done within 14 days of arrival. Offer closes two week prior to the Reunion.
Meet and Greet Event – 24 April 2018
The Meet and Greet event is the kick off to our four days together. At the event you will be able to check in and pick up your Reunion Information Pack as well as pick up any memorabilia you have purchased. We have additional memorabilia available for purchase as well as answer any questions you might have. The only other time you will be able to pick up your memorabilia will be at the Reunion Dinner on the Thursday evening.
Anzac Day March – 25 April 2018
We have had a few questions about children, and wheel chair participation for the march on Anzac Day march at the Australian War Memorial (AWM). We are currently talking to the War Memorial to get an understanding of the rules for this event. The Association is not in charge of the march and as a result we have to abide by the rules set in place by the War Memorial. We will pass on the details as soon as we receive them.
There is reserved seating for participants following the march. Unfortunately there no reserved seating for spectators in the grassed area in front of the AWM as it is fully open to the public. Again we are working with the AWM to gain an understanding of what we will be able to do on the day. We will keep you all fully informed as to seating and other agenda for Anzac Day as the day gets closer.
The Association is working diligently to make all the events at the Reunion successful, and memorable for everyone who attends. We look forward to seeing as many apprentices attend the Reunion as possible to make this an event to remember.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to drop me an email at email@example.com or give me a call on: 0418 200 620

3rd Update on AAA 70th Reunion Registrations 9Nov17
Greeting Fellow Apprentices
Thank you so much for you patience and understanding while we have transitioned to a new organising team for the 70th Reunion. Please find attached the revised Registration Form for the 70th Reunion. We have made the decision to change venues for the Meet and Greet, and the Formal Dinner to a venue that will not only cater for a larger number of attendees, but is also better located to provide a better range of accommodation closer to the venue.
As a result we have had to make some changes to the fees for the event, but we are confident that these small changes will give us the opportunity to make the event one to remember for all those that make the journey to Canberra in 2018.
We have also decide to keep the registration simple and ask you to complete the Registration Form and return it to us via email or post. Please ensure you follow the directions on the form. If you have any questions please email me at email@example.com
For those that have already registered we thank you for your early commitment to the event. For those that have sent their form in, and paid the correct money we will not be asking you to pay any additional money as a result of the change in costs. For anyone who has come up a little short in their payment based on their completed form and according to the payment received we will be asking you to send us little more money. It just helps us to balance the books.
In closing the team making the 70th Reunion happen is looking forward to a great turn out of class mates and partners. To make this event work we need to have over 500 people attend, so the challenge is out there. We believe it is a target we can achieve with some ease, but we need your support. Come to Canberra and be part of something special. Have the experience of being part of a group leading the ANZAC Day march in the nations capital. There is a bucket list experience for you.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
2nd Update on AAA 70th Reunion Registrations 7Nov17
My apologies for not getting the new registration form up and running as promised today. There have been a couple of IT challenges that have delayed the process. The organising committee is working hard to have this sorted out and we appreciate your patience.
We hope to have the new form and web link up in the next couple of days. There has been a couple of changes made from the original schedule ,which we feel will allow more of our fellow apprentices and their partners to attend. A larger venue and a better opportunity for the Meet and Greet and Formal Dinner events to be held are just a couple of changes we have made.
I appreciate the efforts of those people who have registered early, and we are working to have those people formally registered for the event at the prices they paid. There will be some slight price changes when the registration process is restarted, but we hope you will find them acceptable given the changes we have made.
Again if you have any questions or require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Update on AAA 70th Reunion Registrations
Greetings Fellow Apprentices,
As you may be aware we made the decision recently to temporarily suspended registrations for the 70th Anniversary Reunion and associated events. With a change in the Events Committee team it was decided to suspend registrations, so that a full review of what work had been done to date could be undertaken, and to make the necessary changes needed to ensure that the event can cater for the expected numbers of attendees. This has seen us take the decision to change the Meet and Greet and Reunion Dinner venue from the Southern Cross Club to the Canberra Convention Centre. The decision will enable a larger number of our fellow apprentices and their partners/carers etc to attend these specific events and enjoy catching up with old classmates and share a story or three!
The Events Committee is working hard to have registrations re-open on the 6th Nov. There will be a communication close to the day to confirm that the process is back up and running. We thank those who have already registered, and ask that you give us a more time to ensure that we have captured all the information that has been sent into us.
As you can appreciate an event of this size takes a huge amount of effort to organise, and I can tell you that the team is working diligently to make sure the event is a memorable one for all those attending.
Again your patience is appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
